About me and my service

My name is Ivonne Junis, I have worked in child care since 2001, have a TAFE Certificate III in children services, and a current First Aid certificate.

My  role as an Educator is to provide a safe and peaceful environment where friendships are made and nurtured for children 0-5 years old.

I believe that children are best in a home environment and as such our activities are based on the home and garden theme.

Children’s experiences are mostly sensory (They learn through their senses) Listening to stories, music, watering the veggie patch, cutting fruit, building cubbies, craft activities, setting the table, games, outings such as visits to the park, short kid safe bushwalks and our weekly day to playgroup.

My day care children are given TIME TO PLAY and by getting involved in these everyday activities they develop a sense of ownership

Because children also learn through play, I use open ended natural materials to develop exploration skills, these materials provide a platform for imagination and growth that refined toys often deny.

An individual portfolio is created for each child with observations, photos and artwork for you to keep at the of the year.

I strongly recommend and encourage toys that are of natural materials. These will provide hours of open ended play, awakening and nurturing the senses as well as their imagination.
